A thousand masks - part 2
Now new masks I wear, out of pure anxiety and fear, trust broken and my heart was soaking, soaking in acid so I started smoking. A new way of keeping alive, drugs in my system making it worthwhile only intended for it to be somethikg short, Six years I built up a fortified fort. Now I have masks for different people, throwing me for loops jumping through hoops, code switching to be accepted by all, fearing if people won't love me I'll fall. Six years in the gutter, help me I stutter, got meds and got clean, on the shoulders of real friends I lean, The masks have withered, like a snake that forgot to slither, sow the masks are on a shelf, and I'm focusing on being myself.
