A Thing Called Hope
Wondering why We lie by night, Only to rise by dawn, Why we race the world Just to be called the one. Time flies, yet we have no wings to follow, Living with blistering hopes, yet no ground to fall on, Running a race long lost in past lives, Screaming from hollow places with unjust poses. Drinking from empty bowls, Longing for unworthy doses, Fighting against imagined woes, Taking the longest roads, With thoughts that never find their way home. Glancing through the flow, Searching to find a role, Trying not to feel alone In a world of burning coals, Still asking for a thing called hope.
