" A soul's Delayed Farewell "
My heart once beat with vibrant fire, But now it's ash, a smoldering desire. A part of me died, long ago, it's true, But life went on, and my body saw it through. The funeral was planned, the mourners did await, But my flesh remained warm, my breath didn't abate. The energy I held, was needed, wanted still, So my farewell was delayed, my soul's departure unfulfilled. In this limbo, I wander, lost and alone, A ghost of my former self, without a home. The world outside moves on, with all its strife, While I remain, suspended, between life and death's rife. But even in darkness, a spark remains, A glimmer of hope, a light that sustains. For in the delay, I've found a chance to roam, To rediscover myself, and find my way back home. So let the funeral wait, let the mourners disperse, For in this delayed farewell, I've found a new universe.
