I was a butterfly chameleon then came out my shell consumed within sprouted a mushroom a flower or three dug roots down deep then grew up a tree and tall it was with nests and leaves crouched over a bridge and out walked me a me I knew at once as it slithered shedding snake -like skin burning out every winter burned out in the flames to emerge from old ash feet planted eyes wide holy phoenix at last
