A show to break
Beneath a tranquil gaze, she hides A tempest brewing in a smokey tide Her walls are built with gentle care So that no one notices the burdens she bears her Every smile is simply a mask to make it through her daily tasks Yet when she finally reveals the pain They label her tears as a cruel refrain "Too much" they say "you’re just so fake" As if her spirit is only "a show to break" Her agony tossed aside whilst exhaling a breath With smirked lips saying "she is too much, a lie so bold wrapped in death" But none had watched her fight the tide Or how she bled her truth inside Without asking what made her a discombobulated puzzle Only tearing apart the shattered pieces, just hiding in the rubble So now she hides a little more Locks tighter every open door So learned to live, without asking why in a world where her screams are structured to die in a world that shuns her cry She learns to live but not ask why
