A Shadow's Weight
Depression is a storm with no sky, A silent thunder that cracks inside the mind, A vast ocean of saltwater and sighs, Drowning the heart in waves it can’t find. It’s the weight of the world on a single breath, Like gravity bending your spine with its force, A garden of flowers that bloomed into death, Where each petal falls, with no clear course. It’s the cold of a room with no windows or doors, A space where the walls hum a song of despair, Where echoes of laughter drift off into moors, And silence surrounds, thick and unfair. It’s a clock that ticks in reverse, lost in time, Every minute feels like it’s stolen away, A tree with no roots, reaching to climb, But the ground pulls back, leaving it gray. It’s the sky that forgets what blue used to mean, A prism with no color to cast its light, A dream that’s become a forgotten scene, Fading to gray with no end in sight. A furnace with no flame, burning inside, A hunger that feeds on what’s never enough, The darkness, a place where emotions can hide, A void in the soul, quietly rough. This is the shape of the invisible fight, The weight of the world, the silence, the night. It’s the battle we face with no hands to defend, A war with no victor, no beginning, no end.
