A Safer Path
People have hurt me, made me cry, Left me alone, no reasons why. Each time I fell, I stood again, Sometimes with help, sometimes through pain. But now I've fallen deep and low, And ask myself, Why let it show? Why crave a place in someone’s time, When I’ve got my path, my own climb? I’ve got my mom, her love so true, And I’ve got you that peaceful view. You both have shown what calm can be, Now that’s the life I long to see. I’ve done enough, I’ve fought my fight, Now I just want some inner light. The demon deep inside my chest, Needs silence now, it needs to rest. Like you, I want to grow and rise, To see the world with wiser eyes. To hold some peace inside my mind, And leave the pain I’ve put behind. So here I go, I choose my lane, A safer path, away from pain. No need for hands to hold me tight I’ve got myself, my truth, my light.
