A Safe Space

when I look at you I feel like you know me you have my best interests at heart and you care sometimes in my moments of pondering I remember the nights that I cried lonely tears I remember being down being beat up in so many ways but your eyes and your smile comfort me make me feel like I could grow as a person day after day it's not that I am any longer naive you can tell I'm not a stranger to life but I try to hide my sacred self from conflict, trouble, toil and strife so when you see me smiling, just know I am sincere and I feel blessed to know you I'm so glad that you're there
