A Rotting House
I've always wanted one of those rotting houses Those old two story ones where the wood paneling is rotting, the ac system looks like it hardly works and everythings overgrown With those old plastic chairs in the lawn that you know will definitely crumble if you sat in them. Because everytime I look at those houses all I can see and hear is a place that was actually lived in and loved I can nearly hear the children's laughter running through the un-tended garden Smell the kitchen cluttered while their mother cooks dinner The flooring creaking under pattering feet And how you have to shut the door a certain way or it won't lock. The type of house where you can find stories in every nook and cranny In all the creeks and holes A place where people have loved, and hated and cried and felt joy. I've always wanted to live in those rotting houses Because they always seemed like home.
