A reminder of the sun
Every day the sun dips low, A burnished glow, a steady show, And I stand here, beneath the sky, To watch it paint the world goodbye. With each soft fade of gold to gray, The night gives way to yesterday, A closing door, a gentle sign, Reminding me this life is mine. For every time the sun must set, A promise forms, unspoken yet. To seize what slips through idle hands, To make my mark upon the sands. The hours fade, the moments flee, But dreams ignite inside of me. For only I, with will and fight, Can turn the dark into the light. So as the stars begin to climb, I claim my breath, I claim my time. Each setting sun renews my chance To live, to love, to learn, to dance. And though each dusk may steal the day, my path is lit, I'll find my way.
