A Rejected Dream
In dreams she comes, the same old play, Her lips rehearsed to turn away. But I don’t bleed, I don’t collapse, I watch, I smirk, I start to clap. “Again, again!” my mind insists, A tired trick, a ghost that twists. Yet I have sailed past storm and scar, That chapter’s closed, I’ve gone too far. Her “no” is nothing, just a line, A broken record, not divine. I wake and laugh—“Is that your best?” I’ve grown beyond your little test. So dream, repeat, or fade at last, I’ve burned the script, outlived the past. For I’m the Captain, bold, untamed, No ghost of love can keep me chained.
