A POET IN LOVE
If loving you is the wrong Then may the right be far from me. If waking up next to you is sin, Then, to hell would I descend. And tell my tales there Tell them I lived in heaven, With no angels there, just you and I. If loving you is costly, may my pockets know hunger. If being called yours Is like a religion, Then I would gladly be Stephen, The first to bleed for a beautiful truth, I will find my heaven in the stones. And tell the father of love, I did his will. If loving you is death, Then may my days be shortened. If hating on you Will earn me methuselah's years, Then seal me in my coffin early. I would watch the worms do their work, And till my dust goes back to dust. Cause loving you is my fate. I won't be an Oedipus and flee. I succumb to every stroke of it. Let our teeth turn black together, And our backs bend with time. until we lie stretched on the pyre. And contented will I sleep, For I was able to call you mine
