a poem for him
Got dispersed thoughts like frightened birds. Yet, I cannot deny their tainting by dirt. Revolving endlessly as the planets do. Love, you're the sun that controls them without a clue. A radiant glow escapes your lovely soul. How shall I stop this loop of desire whole? You're my king who leads his life as he pleases, While I watch you from afar, embracing all its teases. All my senses crave your warm, tender touch, Since I deeply long for our vervoering — a word in Dutch. If only your ego was less sharp than my scars, So I could hold you close beneath the stars. Please, darling, fill my inner void with your uncertain love, Or else my demons will rise and aim above. I must admit… I cannot endure your absence anymore. I must admit… I love you far more than ever before.
