A Poem About You
I'm trying to think of what to write a poem about But I can't think of anything There's so much to say And never enough words to describe how I feel I cannot synthesize the words that encapsulate how much I adore you How envious I am of your talents How brilliant your silly mind is How your words drive me absolutely insane How every time I catch your eye My heart vacillates between going a million miles an hour and stopping entirely I forget to breathe around you sometimes I'm so taken aback by your allure I'm focused on only your movements and not mine When I sit down with you at the piano My hands begin to violently shake I don't know why but they won't stop But somehow I feel so safe with you Like I can be my truest self I never have to put up a facade to impress you I make my stupidest cheesy jokes because I know you love them I put on my weird music because you like it too I throw my head back and gaudily laugh Because you do it too I don't know what to write a poem about When there's so much of you I could write about A million thoughts, prayers, and desires run through my head at once I cannot possibly write fast enough To write a poem about you
