A Plight to be Free
The voices rang high, They rang loud in my ears. They demanded I die. For my blood to smear... I've done so wrong, I was the villain. That's how all saw me. And they won't stop short of killing. And so I ran away. I ran and hid like a coward. I was hated and scorned. I stood no chance lest I be devoured. I sat and pondered. If I should give in. Shall I simply die? Shall the voices win? For I am but scum. In the eyes of many. Will they finally stop? Will my death be their victory? Freedom, I so dearly crave. Something I yearn for so desperately. The voices, they scream and tempt. And it's creeping close so dangerously. I look up to the sky, The birds they fly without care. Is there hope? Is there a way? To dream... do I even dare? With a knife to my heart, I face the audience with a smile. I bid you all a goodnight. Whispered from lips you find so vile...
