A perfectionist 1.
They say nobody is perfect and everyone has their flaws, Then why do I expect perfection and make it my law. Why do I have the urge to be perfect even when I know it's impossible. It is an unavoidable desire , an unsatisfiable hunger. It follows me like a shadow , unwilling to part company. The fact I'm far from perfect taunts me like a plague. No aspect of my life is excluded, As much as I wish they were not included. I long for the day I'll look at the mirror and not see any imperfection, Struggling to pick out any undesirable spot I see through my reflection. Knowing I'll never be satisfied is punishment enough, and trying to attain what never existed. I long for the day I'll look at my report card and be fully pleased with my all A's But instead I feel this sense of regret coupled with emotional pain, When I realize I was just the best in most of my subjects and not all. I spend my time hating myself for it all day, Even when everyone says it's okay.
