A Peaceful Exhale
In the still of night, I step outside 2:30 AM, the world is hushed and wide Fog rolls in, a chilling, eerie gray Insect sounds, a symphony, play I wrap my ears in sound, my favorite tune A calming balm, for this soul of mine, soon The last cigarette, a final, fleeting thrill I light up, inhale, and let my worries spill Smoke dances, wisps and tendrils play As I exhale, my heart slows, fades away The world, with all its troubles, fades from sight In this peaceful moment, all is right The music, a melancholy, haunting refrain Echoes through my soul, a soothing, calming strain The fog, a mystical veil, shrouds all my fears And for an instant, I am free, through all my tears In this fleeting moment, I am one with the night My heart, my soul, at peace, in all its light The stars above, a twinkling show A celestial display, in all its glow The world may be dark, but in this moment, I see A beauty that's hidden, a peace that's meant to be The fog, it clears my mind, and calms my soul And I am left with nothing, but a peaceful goal So I'll stand here, in this quiet night With the music, the fog, and the stars shining bright And I'll breathe in the peace, and let my worries fade And for this moment, I'll be free,
