A Passing Day (Canto I)
A Passing Day by Jack A.S. Dunce Canto I: The Fog As I sat on a bench with the sunset, I thought of things I did on that one day, That seemed to be too long at its onset, But looking back, I saw it flit away. I was out for a run before sunrise Into the cold embrace of the dawn fog That clouded what could be seen by the eyes And slowed my pace down to a plodding jog. It seemed the fog did not affect others; I heard many footsteps passing me by. The day unfolded into another And the whole world seemed to have passed me by. ©️pgmr 12/28/2024
