A note to myself
i carry stars behind my eyes, but most nights, they forget to shine. i laugh in rooms where i feel alone, and call it fine, and say, “i’m fine.” my heart is tired, soft, and sore, it’s knocked on every closed-up door. i bloom in silence, break in peace, and wear my pain like poetry. i’m learning still — to breathe, to be, to hold my hand, and stay with me. not every wound will end in light, some simply fade into the night. but even in the heavy rain, i know i’ve walked through worse with grace. i’m not a storm, i’m just the sky — i hold it all, and still survive. so here’s to me, the quiet soul, who bends, who breaks, but still is whole. i may not shine, but i still glow — and that, somehow, is enough to know.
