A Mother's Love And Protection
My mom always strived to give us the best, Yet we moved endlessly, faces unknown, places a test. Dad's threats loomed heavy, dark clouds in our nest, Promising to tear us away, to harm, to destroy, no jest. His hands, cruel tools of pain, her tears confessed, Morning bruises, her silent agony pressed. Then came the night when change took its first breath, Mom whispered urgently, pack light, no time to rest. Toys left behind, traces erased with deft, Children bewildered, silent in their nest. Mom, driving fiercely, destination bereft, In her silent resolve, our safety she kept.
