a mirror
My heart is like a mirror, Broken like shattered glass, You brought into your home hoping it would last, They told me to trust you, So I started to love you, But after a few days the love started to fade, But I still stayed, You told me it was normal, And it’s supposed to be this way, But only if they had saw the signs I gave away, Only if they’d saw I wasn’t okay, Maybe things wouldn’t have turned out this way, I wouldn’t be in this bed wondering why I’m not dead, I wouldn’t be dealing with this mess you caused in my head, Maybe if he had wiped the tears from my eyes and told me it would be alright, I wouldn’t be sitting here fighting for my life, Maybe if he had heard my screams I could finally be free, But instead I’m laying in this bed listening to the voices in my head, trying to decide if I should take this blade and scrape, Maybe there still time for an escape, If I’m not to afraid
