A memory that remains
"In the silence of a forgotten place Only our memories will remain Echoes of laughter, whispers of pain And the feeling when you held my little hands And the warmth of your smile, in a long-forgotten land Again, only our memories will remain Time may fade the moments, but not the love we sustained And though we may be apart, in heart, we'll remain Because dad, your love brought light to my darkest side of pain And with every breath, I'll carry it forward, like a beacon in the rain The stories you told, the jokes we made are the only memories that run like a movie through my brain And in their replay, I find solace, a comforting refrain There might be a bit of tears, but don't worry, you don't have to wipe them away For in their gentle fall, I see the love that remains So dad, keep watching over me, like you did when I shared my first tear of real pain And know that I'll keep carrying you with me, through every joy and every strain Though life may take me far, your love will always be my guiding star And in it's light, I'll find my way, through every dawn and every day And in my heart, our memories will forever stay So dad please NEVER LOOK AWAY."
