A Lover's Hate

"I love you." Words so carelessly said. "I loved you." Washing over a heart that is dead. "I need you." A feeble plea to deaf ears. "I needed you." So you've said when death is near. "I know you." A desperate attempt to connect. "I knew you." A phrase open for the world to dissect. "Stay with me." The plight of a mind so Lonely. "Leave me be." A demand of a soul so so dreary. "I don't know you." The words spill out of the Forsaken. "I never knew you." Oh the lives that were taken. "I love you." Words that now carry a painful sting. "I hate you." Am I not allowed to feel such a thing? "I'm not angry." Said as if by an angel. "I'm angry." Does that really make one of the devil? "Come join me." An invitation to accept, no matter how small. "Get away from me." Oh words that were meant to destroy a soul.
