A love that stands
Shall I recall the days of doubt and fear, When storms of sorrow darkened all my skies? Yet in the tempest, you remained so near, A light unwavering through tear-filled eyes. You saw the wounds I tried so hard to hide, Yet held me close and whispered, "Love remains." With patient hands, you turned the crashing tide, And taught my heart to rise beyond its chains. For every whispered sin I dared to speak, You answered not with anger, but embrace. Where others might have left my soul so weak, You filled the void with kindness, strength, and grace. No love is flawless, nor is mine or yours, Yet through our trials, we have learned to grow. Like waves returning always to the shores, Our hearts find home in tides that ebb and flow. For every scar that time could not erase, You traced them softly, kissed away the pain. In love, you gave forgiveness its own place, And let me rise, unshackled, whole again. So here I stand with gratitude untold, A life made richer just by loving you. Through fleeting years, through days of grey and gold, I'll walk beside you, ever strong and true. No fate nor time can break the vow we keep, For love, like roots, runs steadfast, strong, and deep.
