A Love Lost
I once screamed your name in joy A love so sweet, I rejoiced I smiled and laughed I sang and drew But everything was only for you I forgot how it felt to be myself I lost my way I lost myself Who was I? No one without you Maybe, I thought, just maybe, you'd make me, me But my sanity was lost And my love was spent You took everything away from me My happiness My time My love Myself You made me who you wanted me to be "The perfect woman" Not plus sized Not independent Completely submissive and under your control You wanted me to be part of a harem And to that, I say fuck you I am not perfect And never should have tried to be for you You manipulated me You abused me You used me You never loved me I loved all your flaws All your hardships Every ugly part of you But now I realize I should have never lowered my standards for you But you cheated and lied Took and broke every part of me Made me crawl ba k eith those two words "I'll change" Yet you never did... So I sit here writing this poem, wondering if I'm stupid But I do believe it's not my fault You took advantage of my distressed state, and then YOU played the victim I do mourn this love lost But not you Never you
