A Lot
I sometimes think I share too much— More than people can hold, And so, they leave me behind, Without a reason I can understand, Without the time to explain why. A soul bruised, love-deprived, A person who knows more fists than hugs, I stretch my heart towards everyone— But every time, I fall short of words, Failing to tell them Why love feels like survival to me. Hope is the only thread I cling to— The hope of someone steady and kind, Someone who will stay through every moment, Someone to love, And be loved by, too.
