A look in the mirror
When I look in the mirror I see a human Struggling to keep it together Struggling to keep going. I see a daughter Who wants to make her parents proud Who wants to go back home and say I did it are you proud of me? Is that something you can say? A girl who doesn’t believe in herself But pushes through A girl fighting her inner demons Hearing “u have it easier than most people do” I wish they could see How hard she tries Oh how she spent countless nights Drowning in her self doubts and helpless cries. Oh how I wish I could tell her She is the best person I will ever meet But I can’t Because I wouldn't believe me. I wish I trusted myself a bit more I wish she liked what she saw in the mirror I wish she accepted what life had in store. I wish she could accept her error. Oh how I wish for the pain to cease I wish she could see It makes me sick,my knees weak, Because she is me.
