A letter to myself
Dear me, It’s okay to live life in your own way, To wander at night, or sleep through the day. To follow a path, or forge something new No one can live this life but you. It’s okay to feel sad, to carry the rain, To sit with your heart and welcome its pain. The clouds always pass, the sun will appear, But it’s fine to just feel when the hurt lingers near. It’s okay not to feel like a star, To wonder if “special” is something you are. A drop in the ocean still matters, you see Each one helps to fill the immensity. It’s okay not to be the best or the bright, To let your own spark be a soft, steady light. The world isn’t built on the grandest displays, But the love in small moments, the warmth of kind ways. So rest in your skin. it’s a home, it’s your own. You don’t need to shine for the world to have grown. The life that you live, with its joys and its flaws, Is perfect enough without thunderous applause. Take each step with care, or take none at all. You’ll find that your heart will answer its call. And know as you journey, as far as you roam, That being yourself means you’re always at home.
