A Journey Within
For years, I loved the wrong one, A tender heart, but now it’s gone. I shed my skin, a change profound, The gentle soul beneath the ground. I was once open, trusting, and kind, Now a fortress of strength, I've designed. I miss the warmth of love once shared, But I know the price of being ensnared. I mourn the girl who loved so deep, Yet in her absence, I now stand steep. I embrace the strength that I have found, A fierce resolve, no longer bound. But still, a flicker of her light remains, A whisper of love amid the pains. When I seek comfort, I fear to expose, The vulnerable heart that once was exposed. I choose to feed the fire within, To remember the hurt but not let it win. If healing comes, I’ll rise once more, But with wiser eyes and a guarded core. l In this journey, I reclaim my name, No longer a victim of love’s cruel game. I rise from the ashes, stronger and free, A testament to the power of me.
