A Heart Once Pure
In a world of deceit, I search for what's true, A heart once pure, now burdened, with emotions anew. I yearn for peace, but it's lost, stolen away, Leaving me with a sense of emptiness, night and day. I question trust, and love's sincerity, In a world of fake smiles, and superficiality. I've been broken, into little pieces, it's true, By those I trusted, and loved, but they didn't see me through. My childhood dreams, of success and fame, Now seem distant, as I struggle to reclaim, My self-worth, and dignity, in a world that's cold, Where true love, and trust, seem like a distant tale, untold. But still I hold on, to the love of my parents dear, A love that's pure, and true, and wipes away my tears. I know that with their love, I'll rise above the pain, And find my true self, with a heart that's pure, and not in vain. So I'll keep on searching, for that genuine soul, Who'll see my heart, and love me for who I am, whole. And though it's hard, to trust, and love again, I'll hold on to hope, and rise above the heartache, and pain.
