A Heart Fractured
Slowly Mending My heart, once whole, now bears the scars of pain, A brittle surface, cracked by life's disdain. Abuse and betrayal, a cruel, bitter sting, Left doubt and fear, a fragile, wounded thing. I yearn for trust, to open and to see, But shadows linger, memories haunt me. The fear of hurt, a constant, chilling dread, Consumes my soul, a love I dare not tread. Yet, love remains, a flicker, warm and bright, For you, my dearest, a beacon in the night. I'll fight the demons, the echoes of the past, And learn to trust, a love that will forever last.
