A Hard Bargain
A Hard Bargain by Jack A.S. Dunce Before, I bargained not to be undone. I won just to face ruin and pain. This time around, I know: thy will be done. I said It's a mistake, I'm not the one; I have more to give, much more to attain. Before, I bargained not to be undone. The moment I regained once more the Sun, the seams became loose from all the strain. This time around, I know: thy will be done. The castle I'll build will be next to none; it will withstand time's test, I'm certain. Before, I bargained not to be undone. A sandcastle held by lies that were spun for all of it's believers to remain. This time around, I know: thy will be done. Respite from all that was to come I had shunned, believing I knew better than what was ordained. Before, I bargained not to be undone. This time around, I know: thy will be done. ©️pgmr 10/16/2024
