A Good Woman's Goodbye
I stood by your side when no one else cared, In your darkest moments when nobody dared. I made sure you weren't left all alone, For in your storms, I was a shelter, your home. When you felt unworthy, drowning in loss, I built you up, reminded you of your worth, no matter the cost. When they couldn't see the beauty within, I loved everything about you, from your flaws to your skin. I put on a show, like the main attraction, To make you shine, to drown out any distraction. But you tore me down, left me feeling small, In front of the fakes, who didn't care at all. I gave you my love, my heart, my devotion, But you chose to break me, cause me endless commotion. I was the one who stood by your side, But you chose to let me down, left me to hide. Yet, I won't let your betrayal define me, I'll rise above, stronger than ever, just you wait and see. I'll find the love that I truly deserve, For I am enough, and it's time I preserve. So goodbye to the pain, to the tears I've shed, To the love I thought was real, but now is dead. I'll walk away, with my head held high, Knowing that in the end, true love will not pass me by.
