A GIRL LIKE ME
Each day a girl, A girl like me puts on a mask, A mask that she only takes off alone, Afraid of showing her true self, The depressed side...her sad side...her dark side, She only knows how to love, She never trusts anyone with her heart, Her heart is always in a safe place hidden, Hidden safe but weary, She doesn't trust easily actually she never trusts, She has a lot hidden deep inside, Dealing with anxiety is not easy for her, Telling her problems as a joke she always does, For she never wants anyone to worry, For she paints "I'm fine I'm okay, I got this..." With a smile, a smile so perfect, So flawless, She's truly a perfect painting A girl like me fights to be strong everyday In that mask she hides her fears, Fears of letting down the one's she loves most, Fear of getting too close, A girl like me needs a girl like her, To help her cope with ease Ease of breaking down when necessary Not suppressing her emotions A girl like her to tell her that... It's okay to fail sometimes, it's human nature It's okay to break down, Imperfection is perfection too darling... #MidnightSun
