A Genuine Smile
All of my dreams are very vivid. I've dreamt of you a couple times, My first was a smile, Your genuine smile. We weren't close as yet, But I dreamt you smiling while taking a bet. A bet on me, A bet I couldn't see. There was not a hint of sadness behind your eyes, Nor any dark under shadows from hidden cries. You were not hiding your emotions behind a smile, Instead you'd been with me for a time. This dream came in flashes and on repeat, Time after time in my dreams we'd meet. This genuine smile woke me in tears, For how I wished it was real and would stay for all your years. And so I decided to take a chance, To try to bring this smile alive for just a glance. This smile came to life when we were together, If there was a chance that I could make your smile stay genuine forever, I'd take it, burning all the bridges, For a soul like yours deserves to smile like this for ages. Your genuine smile, this world deserves to see, And I'd be honored, if it appears because of me.
