a fragile heart
A heart once strong, with love so true, Trusted blindly, through and through. It stood as pillar, firm and bright, Giving all, with love's pure light. It weathered storms, ignored the pain, Loved with every fiber, every grain. But then came night, and with it, shame, Betrayal's sting, a wound that wouldn't claim. The pain was deep, the hurt immense, No apology came, no gentle defense. Blamed for absence, blamed for not enough, The heart bled out, its trust crushed rough. Reduced to glass, with cracks so fine, It oozed out sorrow, a heart in decline. A chance to mend, a hand to hold, The heart forgave, but scars remained cold. Time passed, but memories won't fade, The past echoes, a heart once betrayed. The road ahead, dark and blue, A lesson learned: handle hearts anew. For every heart is fragile, don't you see, A pillar can shatter, become glass in misery. Treat with care, for love's so true, Handle hearts gently, for they break in you.
