a fleeting tune
I whistled it, "It's not so bad, you're only the best I ever had." This fleeting tune was once the only thing I knew. A quick, mindless chord awoke a latent, slumbering memory. For a moment, I remembered all that I had forgotten: "Today's passion is tomorrow's forgotten legend." I briefly pause to pay my respect to the fallen. And I go on whistling another fleeting tune.
