A Dream Unfolded
What are you made of? I wonder, standing so still, without a blunder. The cup of water slipped from my hand, as if holding coffee with fingers made of sand. You passed by, leaving a shimmer, a dazzle that took me to another realm. Your hands so soft, I thought for a second— could I swap mine to feel such warmth? The air trembled with silence, dear, a pause that made my heart stand clear. Then, in a blink, you gave me admission— was it permission to step inside your vision? A touch on my forehead, and I fell to bed, no longer alive, but not quite dead. I felt heaven’s path begin to unfold, in a moment creased by a count past seven. I moved to hold you close and tight, feeling loved, warm, and light. Then I looked deeper, sought you more, and the alarm sounded, ending my lore. Awake, with soreness and an open door, the dream was gone, the silence tore— but I wish I’d stayed a moment more.
