A Dream of You
God felt pity, longing still, For your name in echoes shrill. Every night, a whispered plea, Drifting soft from soul to sea. So God wove a dream so bright, Let me see you one last night. Moonlight wrapped in sorrow’s lace, I reached for you—one fleeting trace. Your touch was mist, your voice was air, Yet in that dream, you were there. Eyes like dawn, a love untold, Hands once warm, now distant cold. Then morning broke, the dream withdrew, Leaving only shades of you. But in mercy, God had heard, And gave me one last whispered word.
