A Dream of Flames and Shadows
Through the silent streets, I wandered alone, Yet footsteps echoed, not my own. A shadow lingered, a mystery near, A detective with secrets I started to fear. "Why do you follow? What truths do you seek?" His answer came, his voice so bleak: "A life within you, a tale untold, The one you seek dwells in a lighthouse of old." The horizon burned, the lighthouse aflame, I raced through the fire, whispering his name. Through smoke and ash, a figure appeared, Tall and striking, a presence revered. A white shirt gleamed beneath his coat, A silver cross hung at his throat. Dark eyes met mine, a face so rare, Could this be the one who lingers in my prayer? I pulled him close, my tears did flow, A love long buried, now aglow. His silence spoke, his gaze profound, In his arms, my soul unbound. But then I woke, the dream dispersed, My heart still heavy, my mind immersed. Why him, I wondered, why this guise? A fleeting vision beneath the skies. Now I wander, lost in thought, Chasing a dream, a truth I sought. Was he real, this man of light? Or just a shadow in the night? -CLARA JOY
