A Disease Inside
This senseless life, a broken chain, A constant weight, a source of pain. It spreads like sickness, deep and vile, A creeping shadow, a toxic smile. In the house where I still reside, The air is thick, I cannot hide. A cancer grows, it eats away, At all that’s left of hope each day. My roommate stands, but he’s not whole, A blind man lost, without a soul. I called him friend, I gave my trust, But he became my enemy, unjust. He tore away what faith I had, A future bright, now turned so sad. And now I must endure the lie, As every dream begins to die. I wanted love, I wanted peace, But from his hate, there’s no release. His blindness is not in his eyes, It’s in his heart, where hatred lies. Why must I live this twisted fate? Why does my soul still hesitate? God, why have You forsaken me? Why must I drown in misery? He stole my joy, my trust, my grace, Now I live in this hollow place. A house once home, now filled with dread, A world of darkness, hope is dead. The disease spreads, it won’t relent, A poison within, I can’t prevent. And as it grows, I feel the strain, A weight that leaves me numb with pain.
