A Different Breed
The truth is you never loved me, And never will you, still,-- I am a different breed from you, and you can never appreciate me for what I'm worth The best you've ever had to offer, is the least that I deserve. You are a creature without wings, And I sail through the skies with the breeze. You must rely on things to get high and the best you can scale are the trees. I go where I want, on a whim, if I please Above mountains, and oceans, under heavens, and over seas. My wings will take me to places you won't ever know, and to see sights that you'll never see You're a prisoner to the soil that roam and you're bound While I am above and beyond, free to soar. You thought you could trap me, cage me and clip my wings And by breaking my spirit, I wouldn't fly. But you know only of lesser things of the world... You know nothing about wings or things that fly
