A daughter's thoughts
I'm wondering if one day, you'll see me sleeping on our bed. You tried to wake me up, but I wouldn't budge. And that's when you realized that my skin is pale, and my body is cold. Would you cry? Would you consider me someone who brought shame to our family? As someone who puts you in a bad light? Would you even wonder why I decided to end everything? Or would you be too busy worrying about how our neighbors will view you as a parent? Or what if I attempted and failed? Would you look at me with disappointment or with concern? Pity, maybe? Would you ask me how I'm doing? Would you ask me if I'm alright? Or would you tell me to "man up and get my shit together"? I just want you to talk to me. No arguing, no sermons. Heck, I just need you to listen. And if you can't— A warm hug would do. Just please don't leave me alone in my silence.
