A corner of me
I did not break the promise, I did not dim the flame, Yet somehow I was painted wrong, And left to hold the blame. The silence weighs at midnight, The mornings ache with name, A piece of me still waits for you, Though nothing feels the same. I did not cause the ending, But still I bear the cost, Of wandering through the hollow rooms, Counting what I lost. Yet even in this aching, A tender truth is near — The heart that waits for someone else Will one day wait for me right here.
