A child's battleground
In the shadows of their love, I stood alone, A child caught in a war, seeds of pain sown. My heart, a battlefield, where battles were fought, Between a mother's scorn and the love I sought. She judged the ones I held dear, with eyes so cold, A 300-pound boy, too big, too bold. He was kind, a gentle soul in disguise, But her harsh words cut deep, leaving lies. Friends dared to love, but dared not stay, For her wrath chased every bond away. A BFF lost, a love dared and shamed, All because of the cruel games she played. Her face twisted in Walmart's glare, Sickened by truths she couldn't bear. I lied to protect, to keep her pride, But in doing so, a part of me died. Ohio called, a fresh start claimed, But the scars remained, the hurt untamed. A narcissist's grip, a father's neglect, Left a heart broken, a soul wrecked. She forgets the pain, the words once said, But I remember, in my heart they bled. A life of shadows, where love was rare, A mother's burden, too heavy to bear.
