A Chaotic Symphony

"Lub dub, lub dub, lub dub, The sound of my heart's melody, Beats faster than normal, A chaotic symphony that echoes through me. When I spot your shadow, I'm hit With a whirlwind of emotions, hard to define, The roaring butterfly in my stomach Flies around in joy, a reckless, soaring feeling that's mine. My labyrinthine persona makes it complex, A maze of contradictions, where love and fear intersect, I abstain from you, yet crawl back, helpless and weak, Torn between the desire to touch and the need to retreat. Feelings mean vulnerability, a risk I'm afraid to take, Yet, the thought of losing you is a pain I'd rather not make, My heart and mind are at war, a battle that's hard to win, Leaving me with just a glimmer of hope to hold within. All I can do is watch from afar, Not daring to move closer, yet yearning to be near, To feel the warmth of your skin, the gentle touch of your hand, To taste the sweetness of your lips, and savor the love we could stand. But these are just fantasies, I know, A cold heart remains cold, or so it would seem, Yet, the longing persists, a flame that flickers still, A heart that beats for you, against my will, in every unfulfilled thrill.
