A bright hope ☆
She loved her like the sky loves rain, But all her love was given in vain. The girl she longed for never cared, Left her heart broken, cold, and bared. Each glance she gave, unanswered still, Carved deep a wound no time could fill. Her laughter, like a distant shore, Reached out but touched her nevermore. Yet hope, a fragile, flickering light, Kept burning through the endless night. She knew this love would not remain, But still she dared to bear the pain. Perhaps one day love would arise, In other hands, in other eyes. And even if it took its time, She’d wait for love’s uncertain climb. For though her heart was torn and scarred, She couldn’t close its door so hard. Love’s gentle whisper still would stay, And she would wait, come what may.
