A Bird in Chains...
In a cage of duty, she resides, A bird with wings, that once did glide. A rope of obligation, tight and strong, Chokes her desire, to sing her song. The cage is gilded, with promises of old, A comfortable prison, where dreams grow cold. The rope is woven, with threads of love and care, But it binds her tightly, with no escape to share. She looks out longingly, at the open sky, Where birds fly freely, with a gentle sigh. But her wings are clipped, by the weight of her chains, And she remains caged, with her songs and pains. Yet still she whispers, a melody so sweet, A longing for freedom, a heart that skips a beat. And though the cage is strong, and the rope is tight, She holds on to hope, and the promise of flight.
