A begging love
I'm held by you today, but tomorrow I'm free, Released from your grasp, like a bird set loose on a tree. You hold the power, I'm at your mercy, it's true, My heart beats for you, my love, and I'm begging for you. I crave your words, your touch, your loving gaze, But you give them sparingly, leaving me in a daze. I'm searching for a crumb, a scrap of your affection, But you withhold it, leaving me with only my reflection. I yearn for your love, but it's a luxury you reserve, A treasure you lock away, and only occasionally serve. I'm left to plead, to beg, to pray for a taste, A fleeting glimpse of your love, a love that's always in haste. It's strange, how I can own my heart, yet not possess, The love I give to you, the love that you dismiss. I demand it, I want it, I have it, yet I'm still unsure, If you'll give me the love I crave, or leave me begging, poor. I burn for your love, I burn from the fire, That fuels my passion, my desire, my one heart's greatest desire. I'm on my knees, my love, begging for a chance, To love you, to hold you, to be with you, to dance.
