"A Beauty Unseen"
I stand in mirrors, fractured view, A face too plain for love so true. Not perfect, no, but just enough To spark a gaze that's cold and rough. I wear the mask, I hide the pain, Not pretty enough to break the chain Of longing hearts, yet lust remains, A fleeting glance, and then, the strain. They say I'm worth it, but in their eyes, I’m only fleeting, just a prize. Not loved for depth, nor soul, nor light, But for the body they claim at night. I'm caught between, not enough to keep, Not too much to hold them deep. Lusted for, but never seen, A shadow of what love might mean. So here I stand, alone and still, A heart too full, a dream to fill. Unlovable, they say, because My worth is lost in shallow cause.
